Stretching along the St. Lawrence River for over 200 km, the Chaudière-Appalaches region is a veritable garden facing the Old Capital City. Its ideal geographic location has served it very well and this is reflected through the many faces of its landscapes and cultural heritage. The Chaudière-Appalaches region gets it name from the Chaudière River that meanders throughout the Beauce region before flowing into the St. Lawrence at Lévis. To the south of the region, near the Maine state line, are the summits of the Appalachians that punctuate the Thetford, Etchemins, Bellechasse, Montmagny and Islet (Côte-du-Sud) regions.
